Artist Information

SAKAMOTO Izumi born Yamanashi prefecture in 1956. After museum service, teacher, housewife she began to make and exhibit her art works. She is interested in delicate and conceptual portions, such as inconsistency lurking in social common sense or man’s instinct. Expression which visualizes them for various techniques and materials is continued. In parallel to work, the art program which invites an artist in and outside the country to Yamanashi, and artist-in-residence Yamanashi [AIRY] is superintended from 2005 in Kofu-city.
